Welcome to one and all. This is it! My first blog post and the start of a new journey.
I am excited to get the ball rolling on the pre-release information for my first book, titled:
Perpetual Motion - An Autobiography of Relative History.
Why did it take me sixty-seven years to put myself out there? Good question. I hope to provide you some answers in the coming weeks and months; answers that may intrigue you to the point of engaging with me on this new creative adventure. We are going to take it slow. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day. This is my first time building a website so please understand there will be changes and updates as it grows with my future needs. Yes, I will eventually have an option to pre-order or buy this first book, and of course, any subsequent books to come, directly from the site. Yes, there is a "Subscribe" button with some cool give-aways attached to that effort, information to follow soon. And yes, I will have payment options too. I also expect there will be some technical glitches along the way, but please bear with me, I want to make this site fun and full of surprises!
So, why now? To give it to you straight, I need an outlet for all the thoughts and ideas that are marbling around my brain. Even after penning over 124,000 words for my memoir, I still have much to say.
The completed and edited manuscript is at the publishers, the cover design is done and we are now finalizing the layout design for the interior of the book, so there is much to do yet. But soon, I will have more information on that process and a whole bunch more on what the hell this book is all about. Fingers crossed, I'm hoping for a release date for early spring!
In the meantime, I will give you a vision on how I see this project/website progressing.
I initially wanted to include several images in the context of the book. However, after viewing the hundreds of photos I have collected over the years, I just couldn't narrow the pile down to a manageable dozen, the optimal number of images for a biography. . . and, let's face reality, to include all of them would be just too cost prohibitive. Instead, I came up with an idea to use this website to post the images which correspond to the different stories I have penned throughout the book. I plan on doing this on a regular basis. In that way, you will be able to visualize for yourself, the actual events that make up the tales I tell. And, as you will see, I have plenty of tales to tell.
I will be posting new blog content on a regular basis, keeping all of you informed as to the publishing progress, any image gallery additions, sneak previews of some storyline content, any pre-release information, and of course, a hard and fast release date. . . when I get it! You will be informed of any and all book signing efforts, after I figure all of that out. I will be interacting with you through my FaceBook and Instagram accounts also, both of which can be accessed on the "Contact" page.
So, until then, keep your dreams alive and remember, it's never too late to start your own writing journey! Dust off that notebook and begin!
